Paul Wendell Knight, 80, of Armstrong passed away at 7:30am, Sunday November 4, 2007 at his residence. Paul was born June 8, 1927 in Danville the son of Roy Ernest and Carrie Kinney Knight. On August 2, 1946 he married Norma Hart in Potomac, she survives. Paul is also survived by his sons; Roy (Debbie) Knight, William (Mary Lou) Knight, Bret (Lisa) Knight and Brad (Mona) Knight; grandchildren; Matt (Kym) Knight, Beth Knight, Rebecca (Shane) Diskin, Justin Knight, Amy (Culley) Medley, Mike (Courtney) Carpenter, John (Lori) Carpenter, Brian (Aubrey) Carpenter, Tucker and Griffin Knight, Traci, Ryan, and Tyler Knight; great grandchildren; Levi and Logan Knight, Kade Smith, Abigail Simpson, Noah Carpenter, Maci Carpenter and Cooper Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents Carrie and Roy Knight, a son David LeRoy, sister Willa Knight and twin great granddaughters Jayden and Kaylin Medley. Paul was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer. He enjoyed being with his family and making homemade ice cream, watching his children and grandchildren play sports and westerns. He served on the Armstrong Grade School and High School Board of Education, Partlow Cemetery Board and had been swine superintendent of Vermilion Co. Fair. Paul was instrumental in the developing of VOTEC. Served as elder at No.10 Church of Christ and most recently was a member of Second Church of Christ. A celebration of life service for Paul will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Pastor Drew Mentzer will officiate. Burial will follow at Stearns Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4-8:00pm at the funeral home.
