Paul Weese

Paul Weese, 84, of Danville passed away on April 13, 2011 at Danville Illiana Health Care Systems. Paul was born October 4, 1926 in Westville, Illinois son of Victor and Anna (Steward) Weese. Survivors include son Michael (Danguole) Weese and daughter Lori Weese; three grandchildren Christina of Westville, Steven of Paris, and Alan of Pittsboro, IN; and 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one brother Roberts Weese. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Gerald, Howard, George, and Jack. Paul was a graduated of Danville High School and the University of Illinois. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955, until being honorably discharged from Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois. Paul worked at G.E. for 18 years, and later sold real estate for 20 years. He also owned and operated Spudnut Donut Shop and Palace Cigar Store for a few years. He was a longtime member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, Danville Elks, and the American Legion. He enjoyed sports, computers, reading, gardening, and was an avid Cubs fan. A Celebration of Pauls Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 18, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-4 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery with military honors preformed by the American Legion Post #210.
