URBANA- Paul Roy Foster, 75, of Urbana peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. Paul had a life well-lived. He was born on July 15, 1939 in Danville, IL, the twin brother of Earl Ray Foster, and son of Joseph E. and Esther Dawson-Foster. He formerly married Kay Shurr Barrett in June of 1959 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Scott (Lisa) Foster of Paris, IL and Brad (Jeannie) Foster of Sidell; 5 grandchildren, Lauren (Kyle) McFarland of Champaign, Staci (Adam) Webb, Brandon Foster, DJ Osborne, and Linsey Foster all of Paris; 9 great-grandchildren, Bearen, Parker, Paysen, Spencer, Mason, Syrus, Camden, Skylar, and Serenity; his twin brother and best friend, Earl Ray Foster of Urbana, and two sisters, Peg Elldredge of Urbana and Bonnie Lee of LaCrosse Wisconsin . Preceding Paul in death are his parents; one great-grandchild, Scott “Boogie” Tomlinson, III; one brother, David “Sonny” Foster; Brother-In-Law Jerome Lee and his sister-in-law, Pat Foster. From his days as a young kid washing cars, to his adult years as a Press Operator, Paul always worked hard. He was devoted to his work, and was talented working with his hands. Paul retired from Estad after 33 years. Paul was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was very involved in his Florida House community, and was well loved and respected by his fellow residents and friends. Paul and his twin brother Earl were inseparable. It was rare to see one and not the other. They truly had a true and special bond that carried throughout their lives. They enjoyed doing many things together and going many places, and they were always there and helped one another. This even included being present with his brother and Mayor Scott Eisenhower for the grand opening of the Taco Bell in Danville. NASCAR was one of his many loves in life, and Mark Martin was who he always cheered for. When he was not watching NASCAR, Paul enjoyed Fishing and playing Bingo and cards. He also was an avid Cubs baseball fan, Illini basketball fan, and he enjoyed collecting toy cars. Paul will be truly missed by all those who knew him. A Visitation to celebrate the life of Paul Foster will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Homes Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign. As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pauls honor to the Save a Mutt Shelter in Chrisman, IL by going to www.saveamuttshelter.com or, contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
