PAUL RAYMOND FARROW SR. Paul Raymond Farrow Sr., 87, of Danville passed away at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, January 29th, 2011 at the VA Illiana Healthcare System. Paul was born on July 25th, 1923 in Harvard, Nebraska, the son of Omer Frank and Lena Mary (Kielman) Farrow. He married Mary Van Leer on July 8th, 1961 in Stateline, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 28th, 2010. He is survived by one daughter- Linda Race of Hobe Sound, Florida; one son Paul Farrow Jr. of Danville area; two step-daughters- Diana Marti of Carol Stream, Illinois and Lana (Dick) Shuberg of De Witt, Michigan; one sister- Eloise MacDonald of Hasting, Nebraska; nine grandchildren- Angie (Kenny) Abbott of Chicago, Illinois, Tracee (Pete) Theiler of Chicago, Illinois, Tyler Fox of Danville, Amy Farrow of Danville, Kyle (Erin) Shuberg of Atlanta, Georgia, Jill Shuberg of Lansing, Michigan, Sandra Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri, Evan Conner Marlatt of Rantoul, Illinois and Lexi Van Dyne of Mattoon, Illinois; and five great-grandchildren and one niece-Cheryl MacDonald of Harvard, Nebraska and nephew- Gary MacDonald of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother Bud Farrow. Paul attended high school in Nebraska and later attended college at the University of Missouri, where he obtained his degree in agriculture. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of Anchor Lodge 980, GAO Grotto and the Tilton Lions Club. He was also a member of the United Church of Tilton. Paul was in electronic retail and wholesale, his whole life. He owned his own store A-1 TV and ACE TV in Champaign and co-owner of Electroland Electronics in Danville. After he retired he worked for Danville School District as a bus driver and bus aid. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Nebraska Corn Huskers football fan. A Celebration of the life of Paul Raymond Farrow Sr. will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 4th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Marvin McCormick officiating. Burial will follow the service in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
