Cayuga, Ind. - Paul R. (Dick) Keller, 81, of Cayuga, passed away at 6:58 p.m. EDT Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana.
He was born January 9, 1938 in Russellville, Indiana, the son of the late Willard and Louella Morris Keller.
He married Leona (Sis) White on June 17, 1961 at the Cayuga Christian Church, by Rev. James Mackey. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Brian Keller of Cayuga, Indiana and Brad (Melissa) Keller of West Terre Haute, Indiana; four granddaughters; one grandson; three great granddaughters; one great grandson; one sister, Dora Koma of Montezuma, Indiana; two brothers, Don(Terry)Keller and Larry(Carla)Keller, both of Montezuma, Indiana. Dick was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Dick was a 1957 graduate of Montezuma High School. He served six years in the Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant E-5. He retired from Bohn Heat Transfer in 1995 after 33 years and later retired again from Stem International in 2008. Dick was a former member of Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department and was one of the first licensed E.M.T's in Vermillion County volunteering his time with Vermillion County Ambulance in the mid 1970's. Dick enjoyed hunting and collecting pre-historic Native American artifacts for over 50 years. He also enjoyed bow and gun hunting, yard work, gardening and riding four wheelers with all his friends.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Friday, May 17, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. EDT Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home.
