Paul Irvin Howard, age 82 of Westville, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at 9:56 PM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born May 26, 1933 in Danville to the late Virgil and Ruby (Snyder) Howard. Paul married Clara Ervin on November 15, 1975 at Fairview United Methodist Church. She survives and will miss him dearly. Also surviving are his children, Wes (Tammy) Howard of Danville and their children, Stephanie Sellek and Crystal Howard, Terry (Nancy) Howard of Westville and their children, Joe (Belinda) Howard, Jessica (Bob) Golliday, Joshua Howard, and Jillian Howard, Lori (Dan) Huebner of Cedar Creek, NE and their children Jeremy Langford, Paul Langford, and Daniel Huebner, Tamie (Vito Palazzolo) Nagrodski of Westville and her children, Ashley (Brandon Batchelor) Nagrodski and Danielle Nagrodski; and Tim Revello; nine great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; aunts, Helen and Lois Howard; extended family, Warren Nagrodski and Aimee Revello; sister-in-law, Mary Minnick; and many other family members and friends who will also miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gordon (Linda) Howard. He grew up on the family farm, which is now part of Forest Glen. Paul was a graduate of Georgetown High School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. During his service he was station at Ft. Riley in Kansas, Ft. Benning in Georgia, and another base in Illinois. Paul worked as a manager at the Grab-It-Here store in Westville and Danville, Man Incorporated, Anchor Hocking, and Heatcraft where he retired in 1998. Paul loved spending time mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and animals. He fed the birds, rabbits, and squirrels daily. His cats, Precious, Goldie, and Rascal will miss being around him. Paul was a great musician and could play many instruments including the piano, fiddle, and mandolin. Most important to Paul was spending time with his wife and family. He was a member of McKendree Church and then transferred to Fairview United Methodist Church after their closing. A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. Pastor Matt Filiscky will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Paul's name to CARA in honor of his love of animals or Fairview United Methodist Church.
