Paul Hutts, 84, of Covington, passed away at the VA Illiana Health Care System, in Danville, IL., on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 2:52 a.m. Paul was born on March 24, 1925, in Danville, IL, the son of Fred and Addie W. (Jones) Hutts. He married Carolyn Hinton on February 12, 1966, in Covington, IN. She survives. Also surviving are two sons; William L. LeClaire of Danville, IL and Steven LeClaire of Bastrop, TX; two daughters, Carol Lynne (Michael) Scully of Lakewood, CA, and Patricia Jo (Duane) Grubb of Covington, IN; six grandchildren, Cari (Ryan) Sowers, Trey Sams, Kallay Grubb, A. Jay Grubb, Katherine Scully, and Jack Scully. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, Daniel Hutts, and one granddaughter, Marki. Paul was a graduate of Covington High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed in Africa, Italy and France from 1943 until 1947. He spent three years in the hospital after being severely injured in 1944. He was honorably discharged in 1947. Paul received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. He was a life member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and DAV. He was a construction worker for over 25 years. Paul could always be found in his shop doing metal and wood working. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, A celebration of Pauls life will be held later in the week for the family. Per Pauls wishes, he will be cremated and buried at Danville National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of your choice or the Covington Community Foundation in memory of Paul.
