Paul Dobbles

Danville - Paul G. Dobbles of Danville passed away on March 26, 2016 at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home. He was born December 7, 1921, the son of William Dobbles and Zoe (Sumner) Dobbles. Paul married Jean Roderick on March 9, 1945 in Providence, Rhode Island. She preceded him in death; as well as his son, Philip Dobbles; sisters, Gretchen Faulkner and Ardith Davis. Paul is survived by his son, Todd (Linda) Dobbles of College Station TX, daughter in law Marilyn Dobbles of Monroe Louisiana; brother, Dale Dobbles, Danville, IL; grandchildren, Melissa Prine, Patricia Merritt (Brian), Ashley Dobbles and Paul Dobbles, II; as well as his six great-grandchildren. Paul was a toolmaker for GenElectric for 38 years, retiring in 1984. His hobbies included watch and clock repair and woodworking. He attended Oakwood H.S. and played baseball and basketball receiving a letter in each sport. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Park will take place at a later date.
