Patsy Schlorff

Patsy (Houk) Schlorff, 72, of Danville passed away at 3:35am March 19, 2006 at the Hawthorne Inn at Liberty Village, Danville. She was born September 20, 1933 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late William and Nada (Servia) Houk. Patsy married Daniel H. Schlorff on August 18, 1957 in Danville. He survives. Survivors include aunt and uncle, Alice and Robert Houk of Marshall, Illinois, cousin Mickey Gourdouze of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, eight nephews, two nieces, seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents. Patsy graduated from Danville High school in 1951 and worked for Wolford-Shane Insurance, Hurletron, and Hyster. In 1996 she retired after thirty five years of service as a senior insurance adjuster for Country Insurance. She had a life long passion for singing, and over the years had been an active member of several singing groups such as the Vermilion County Chorus, Trebleaires, and most recently, the Sweet Adelines. She was a devoted member of the Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church and choir, and held numerous positions such as choir director and chairperson of Fair Hope Board of Directors. She was active in local United Methodist Women activities and the secretary of the Iroquois District of the United Methodist Women, and was active in the Korean War Veterans Association. She enjoyed singing, traveling, needlework, and counted cross-stitch. Celebration of life for Patsy (Houk) Schlorff will be held at 11:00am Thursday March 23, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville, Illinois. The Reverends James Williams, Paul Paskewitz, Judy Medlan, and Richard Chrisman officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8:00pm Wednesday March 22, 2006. Memorials may be made in Patsys name to Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker program at Henderson Settlement, P.O.
