Patrick Troyer of Mahomet passed away peacefully in his home under the care of his loving wife on Friday, April 3rd 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and duty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marianne Troyer, as well as his sister, Penny Baer (Bob).
Pat is survived by his devoted wife Jeanie Troyer, his little sister Julie Gudgel (David), daughter, Ariel Troyer, two sons, Dustin and Jason Troyer, and granddaughter Lily Troyer.
He was born on February 20th, 1959, to Jack and Marianne in Gibson City. He was 67.
He loved motorcycles, the St Louis Cardinals, his daughters cooking, and camping and boating with his family and friends, and golfing with his sons. His hobbies and dedication to providing electrical services for his hometown community gave Pat a happy and fulfilled life. Laughter in any form was his favorite activity, and he loved to share it with anyone at any time for any reason. Pat never met a stranger he didn’t try to turn into a friend.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Champaign Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Hank Sanford of CU Church. Burial will follow at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City.
The family requests that guests dress casually and comfortably as we honor Pat’s life. And feel free to wear your favorite Cardinal attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s name to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, The ALS Association, or to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
