Patrick "Pat" L. Smith

Perrysville, Ind. - Patrick "Pat" L. Smith, 63, of rural Perrysville, passed away at 6:40 a.m. EDT Friday, November 1, 2013 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born October 14, 1950 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Warren Guy and Anna Rose Strawser Smith. Pat married Susan J. Dunavan on September 3, 1971 in Kentucky. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Debbie(Mark)Swingle of Perrysville, Indiana and Tammy(Jim)Morson of Coronado, California; his mother, Anna Rose Smith of Covington, Indiana; four grandsons, Aidan Morson; Evan, Gaven and Avery Swingle; two sisters, Marilyn Bentley of Veedersburg, Indiana and his twin, Patty(Chuck)Tolley of Covington, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Rosalie Taylor. Pat retired in 2013 as a storeman clerk from Viscofan in Danville, Illinois. He was a 1968 graduate of Covington High School. Pat was a talented artist, painting several portraits. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, all sports, especially baseball and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Pat also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons. Memorial services: 4 p.m. EST Sunday, November 3, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Michael Trusty; Visitation: 1 p.m. EST until time of services on Sunday, November 3, 2013.
