Patrick Donelson

Patrick Donelson, 70, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 9:34pm, Monday, May 10, 2021, at Holy Cross Hospital, Chicago, IL. He was born in Streator, IL, on November 8, 1950 the son of Donald and Lois (Knapp) Donelson. He was united in marriage to Betty Chandler until her passing. He is survived by his children, Kristine (Dusty) Poer & Pete Donelson, both of Covington; his grandchildren, Jackson Kindell, Tyler Kindell, & Brady Poer; his stepmother, Loretta Donelson; his siblings, Charles (Nancy)Donelson, Richard (Cindy) Donelson, James (Jeanette) Donelson, William (Allison) Donelson, Mary Sue Graham, Robert (Vickie) Donelson, & Karen (Peter) OReilly; and his stepsisters, Susan (Brian) Buzash & Sally Rugusa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Patrick was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He drove a truck for most of his life. He owned and operated his power washing business, Pride Powerwashing. He was a member of the VFW of Covington, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph Church, Covington. Patrick was known as hard worker and enjoyed working in his yard, mowing & gardening. He loved his annual trip to see family in Arizona. Patrick was a regular at his favorite restaurant, Benjamins, and could be seen there sometimes twice a day. He loved helping anyone in need and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday prior to his service at the funeral home. As per his wishes, Patrick was accorded cremation rites and will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Covington. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the VFW of Covington, IN.
