Patricia Young

Patricia (Pat) Young, daughter of Berniece and Willard Burgoyne passed this life at Carle Hospital on November 9, 2011. Pat married Ben Young on December 29, 1957 at the Vermilion Heights Methodist Church in Danville, IL. Love of family was central in Pat's life. Her survivors include: her husband and eternal sweetheart, Ben, her beloved brother, Joe Burgoyne and his wife Irene, and several special nieces and nephews. They include Rick and Beckey Burgoyne, Ron and Melanie Young, Jeff and Pam Burgoyne, and David and Connie Young. A number of sweet great nieces and nephews filled Pat's life with smiles and happy moments. She is preceded in death by her dear parents and an infant brother, James Allen Burgoyne. Pat taught dancing for a number of years in Vermilion County. Many of her students and their families remain trusted and loyal friends. Following her dancing career, Pat returned to school and earned a degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition as well as Certification in Nutrition. She was also a member of the American College for the Advancement in Medicine. She was asked to write a book/protocol on Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, and Cancer. The protocols were published in a hardbound cover and were widely read by both lay and professional individuals. Visitation and services for Pat will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2011 from 4-8pm. Services will be Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00am. Pastor Dave Garver and Pastor Justin Schneider have been asked to officiate the service. Burial to follow at Springhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat's name to the St. James United Methodist Church in Danville.
