Patricia 'Trisha' Schabowski

Patricia "Trisha" Schabowski ,67, of Westville, IL passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on November 25, 1955, to Frank and Louise (Stefaniak) Miskus in Danville, IL. She married George Schabowski on July 23, 1994, until his passing in March of 2016. She is survived by two daughters, Jessica and Stacey Barnes; her stepdaughter, Jami Schabowski; her cherished grandchildren, Braeton (Sydni) Barnes, Korryn (Tillo Reed) Trott, Khaymon Trott, all of Kokomo, Brennen Strawn and Mackenzie Schabowski, both of Westville; her great-grandchildren, Braeton Barnes, Bennett Barnes, and Gwendolyn Reed, all of Kokomo; her two siblings, Frank (JoAnn) Miskus and Kathy (Gene) Henderson. She will be missed by all, especially her well-loved kitty Simba. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as a grandson, Dalton Layne Trott. During her life Trisha did many things, and she did them well. She was an accomplished seamstress, bowled for many years, and was very involved in the American Legion. Most important, however, were her relationships. Trisha loved to spend time with her grandchildren, maintained friendships from childhood, and even befriended those hired to care for her later in life. A celebration of Trishas life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor James Blue. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Tuesday prior to her service at the funeral home. Per Trishas wishes, cremation will take place following the service with inurnment at Sandusky Cemetery in Westville, IL. Memorial donations may be given to the donors choice of charity.
