Patricia Polasek

Patricia Polasek, 83, of Catlin, IL passed away with her family by her side at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL on June 29, 2022 at 9:40 PM.

Patty was born on September 8, 1938 the daughter of Virgil and Marjorie (Davis) Rankins in Oakland, IL. She was married to Steve Parsons and later Raymond Smith who preceded her in death on February 13, 1992. Patty later married Richard Polasek on July 22, 1996 and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2018.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Harold) Neal of Catlin, IL and Steve (Janice) Parsons of Cottageville, SC, grandchildren, Stevie (Kelli Adjinoski) White of Danville, IL, Jennifer (Ronnie) Christopher of Walterboro, SC, Todd Brewer of Cottageville, SC, Jessie (Doug) Roskup of Fort Morgan, CO, and Toby (Myra) Neal of Germany, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild as well as three brothers, Kenneth (Pat) Rankins of Marshall, IL, Darrell (Nancy) Rankins of Georgetown, IL and David (Becky) Bayes of Marshall, IL and one sister, Marilyn (Alan) Tyler of Marshall, IL.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, Raymond Smith and Richard Polasek.

Patty was a member of the Hillary Bible Chapel and worked at Bullock Garages and later Black and Company Hardware for many years. After she married Richard, she became a "brick masons assistant" as she and Richard completed many beautiful masonry projects. She also enjoyed spending her free time taking long walks, gardening and growing vegetables, watching the hummingbirds, Bible readings, working word search puzzles and watching her programs. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Tim Van Ryn will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
