Patricia 'Patty' Frye

Patricia (Patty) Ann Frye passed away in her Champaign, IL home on Wednesday, September 13 at age 73. She is preceded by her son, Bart Hughes; her husband John (Jack) Frye; her brother, Tommy Pribble; her mother, Helen Pribble; and her father Kenneth Pribble. She is survived by her son, Brett Hughes; her daughter-in-law, Tanya Hughes; her granddaughter, Lauren Hughes; her daughter-in-law, Andrea Hughes; her grandson, Gannon Hughes; and her granddaughter, Gabrielle Hughes. She is also survived by her loving siblings, her sister, Linda Gourley; her brother-in-law Gary Gourley; her sister, Nancy Myers; her brother-in-law, Larry Myers; her brother, Greg Pribble; her sister-in-law, Becky Pribble; and her brother, Jimmy Pribble. Patty was a lifelong educator. Whether she was helping to raise and care for her five younger siblings, raising two rambunctious boys of her own, teaching a classroom full of elementary schoolers, or taking care of her three grandchildren - Patty was always imparting some kind of wisdom. Without fail, she always put the needs of others before herself. She was selfless, kind, clever, and full of a boundless hope that helped her never lose sight of a brighter future. When she wasn't caring for her loved ones, Patty was adventuring. Whether she was tooling around the backroads of Illinois or visiting the Sistine Chapel, Patty never lost her sense of adventure and wonder. Patty was a devout Catholic who always put her life in the hands of The Lord. Her family takes comfort in the fact that she's up in heaven now, probably enjoying her fifth cup of coffee of the day and chatting with the relatives who preceded her. Thank goodness coffee never gets cold in heaven. The family would also like to thank everyone who has come forward with their love and support during this trying time. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Father Bo Schmitt. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown. Visitation will be held the evening prior on Monday September 18, 2017 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
