Patricia "Pattie" Hein, 80, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Pattie was born on February 28, 1943, and was the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Orr) Carey. She married James J. "JJ" Hein on October 2, 1965 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2019.
Pattie graduated from Schlarman high school and then stayed home to raise her children. She worked at Lauhoff for many years prior to and after raising her children.
Pattie enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, sports, sewing, cross stitching, and late-night phone conversations with her sister. Most of all, Pattie loved raising her four children and spending time with her husband of 54 years.
Pattie was known for her friendly and pleasant demeanor as well as her beautiful and ever present smile.
Pattie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim of 54 years, and her two siblings, Thomas Carey and Barbara Dudich.
Survivors include her three daughters, Michelle (Michael), Jamie, and Jennifer (Phil); one son, Mark (Brandy); two grandchildren, Addison and Kolton, one brother, James (Linda) Carey, her lifelong Bunco friends, and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as several grand puppies.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Manor, OSF hospital, and all of her caregivers for their dedication to her care over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St Pauls Catholic Church, 1303 Walnut Street Danville, IL with Father John Cyr officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from Noon 1:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Pauls Catholic Church.
