Danville - Patricia M. Leverich, 93, of Danville, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born on Sept 7, 1926 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Alice and Leo Schafer. She married Louis E. Leverich on June 5, 1948 until his passing on September 12, 1964.

Survivors include her two wonderful sisters, Ann (William) Winn Hains and Margaret Tabory of Largo Florida; six children, Steve Leverich (the late Louise Gergel) Danville; Marcia (Fred) Basolo, Bloomington; Gail Leverich, Bloomington; Cindy Leverich, Danville; Karen Cross (Robin Adams) Danville; and Laura Caudill, Westville and six grandchildren,Tricia (Kip) Hayden, Angie (Eddie) Navarro, Melissa (Matt) Simpson, Michael Rice, Andrew Caudill, Ashley Caudill (Braydn Budde), and seven great-grandchildren, Collin and Grace Hayden, Caden Bennett, Hope Caudill, Cora Budde, Owen Simpson and Cecilia Navarro. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of Westville for over 65 years. Patricia was truly an extraordinary mother. In 1981 she was chosen "Mother of the Year" in Bloomington, IL. Her 30 plus years in Bunco Club was a special time with the Westville ladies and especially close friend Gracie Blazaitis. She loved scrabble, crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, Wheel of Fortune, chocolate, and was a very competitive Left Center Right (LCR) player. Patricia, a master seamstress, skillfully made 18 cheerleading outfits for the cheerleading squad at Illinois State University. She lovingly sewed for friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren. Patricia retired from Sears after 25 years.

Patricia carried the Prayer of St. Francis in her billfold since 1947 and will always be remembered for her abundant generosity, support and love. She was a caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived for her children.

Patricias family is deeply grateful to the many friends and family who have supported them throughout this journey. Among them are Eucharistic Ministers - Claudia, Earl, Fred and Norma from St. Pauls Church; Dr. Timothy Horner, Dr. Ismail Bobat, Caregiver and Friend Melissa Curry, Hawthorne Inn Manor Court, OSF Hospital and the OSF Hospice Team of Karen, Alyssa, Debbie and Amy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pauls Catholic Church 1303 N Walnut Street Danville, IL on Friday July 24, 2020 at 11:30 AM. Father Bowan Schmitt will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 11:00 11:30 AM at the church. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

It is kindly requested that those attending the visitation and or service wear a mask and practice social distancing.
