Patricia Linck

Patricia (Pierce) Linck, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Danville, Illinois. Born on September 16, 1935, she was the youngest child of Earl and Mary (Rhodes) Pierce. She remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.

Patricia, known affectionately as Pat, graduated from Potomac High School in 1951 at the age of 16. Driven by a passion for helping others, she enrolled in the Nursing Program at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville and earned her RN diploma in 1954. This marked the beginning of a long and rewarding career in nursing—a profession through which she touched countless lives with compassion and dedication.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Pat was a vibrant presence in the lives of those around her. She was an avid cook who delighted in bringing people together. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth during family gatherings, most notably the annual Thanksmas celebration that brought together more than thirty relatives and friends each year. She was also active in the Danville Elks Lodge, American Legion and St. Elizabeth Nurses Alumni Association.

Pat also found joy on the golf course and participated for many years in a women’s golf league. Alongside her beloved husband Joe Linck, she embraced adventure and the open water as avid boaters. The couple spent winters aboard their boat in the Florida Keys before trading their sea legs for wheels and exploring the United States by motorhome. They found community and camaraderie among their friends at Big Cypress RV Resort in Florida each winter — experiences that held a special place in her heart.

A woman of deep faith, Pat was an active member of St. James Methodist Church in Danville. She was especially involved with the St. James United Women in Faith group and contributed meaningfully to church life.

Her commitment to service extended beyond formal roles; she was a dear friend and caregiver to many throughout her life.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Linck, her son, Mark Weber and her grand daughter Lacey Weber. She is survived by her children Donna Scherer, Susan Sheldon, Neil Weber & Barb Monke and her step-children Cheryl Burke, Joe Linck, John Linck and Georgia Stocker. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren—each carrying forward a part of her enduring legacy.

The family is especially grateful for the love and support provided by her dear friend Jan Hetherington.

Her memory will live on through the lives she touched with kindness, strength, and unwavering love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
