Patricia Laird, 78, of Danville passed away on July 15, 2017 at her home. Pat was born November 29, 1938 in Danville the daughter of Irving Maynard and Dorothy Bower. In her mother's second marriage her name was changed to Flanagan. Pat married Richard Smither on March 18, 1956, of that union three children were born. Brian (Debbie) Smither of Kersey, CO, Donna (Steve) Starwalt of Danville and Brenda Ramsey of Houston, TX. Pat later married Glen A. Laird on December 9, 1967. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1976. Survivors include one sister Sue (Junior) Lyons of Danville, three brothers Mike (Peg) Flanagan of Richview, IL, Dayne (Marilyn) Flanagan of Hodginville, KY, and Kevin (Pam) Flanagan of Shellyville, KY, two stepchildren from her second marriage, Glen (Marsha) Laird and Judy who passed away. Pat has three grandchildren Sabrina (Tracy) Craft, Joseph (Rebecca) Laird and Nikki (Tim) Morgan, two great grandsons and three great granddaughters. Pat was also preceded in death by one sister Peggy Chalkus. Pat was a registered x-ray technician for many years before working in the orthodontic profession for thirty-four years. Retiring from Dr. K. Musters office. She loved going on cruises and took many trips over the years. Pat was also a vendor at Gordyville for over twenty-seven years, she loved talking to people as they stopped by her booth. Pat was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ. Pat was blessed with a true friend that was there for her for over thirty years. Dolores Shapiro was not only a friend but a travel buddy and housemate. Pat's caregiver was Sheila Schlunaker, the family truly appreciates your time with our mother, taking care of her every need. We cannot be more thankful. The family would also like to thank Transitions Hospice Care for their kindness and compassion toward Pat. Pat has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3040 North Vermilion with her final wish's, she will have a private graveside and be placed next to the man who loved her dearly.
