Patricia L. Bush

Kingman, Ind. - Patricia L. Bush, 79, of Kingman, passed away at 9:35 a.m. EDT Saturday, July 20, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 29, 1934 in Metcalf, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edgar and Geneva Vale Patton. Patricia married Wallace J. Bush on July 29, 1951 at Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2004. Survivors include her children, Jeff(Sandy)Bush of Catlin, Illinois; Beth(Jerry)Hodge and Tim Bush, both of Kingman, Indiana; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandson; brother, Robert Patton of Bloomingdale, Indiana and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Patton of Tangier, Indiana. Patricia was preceded in death by her grandson, Nathan Hodge; three sisters and one brother. Patricia taught english from 1974 until her retirement in 1994 at Covington Middle School. She also formerly owned and operated a beauty salon from 1966 thru 1972 in Kingman. Patricia attended the Waterman Baptist Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Tangier High School. Patricia enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, crossword puzzles and watching birds. She wrote several books about the Patton/Bush family history. Patricia also wrote about the history of the communities of Kingman, Silverwood and Lodi, along with several cookbooks. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. William Lehman; Burial: Miller Cemetery near Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Waterman Baptist Church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
