Patricia June Britt

Danville - Patricia June Britt, 82, of Danville passed away at 1:03 PM on April 8, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Patricia was born on March 31, 1935 the daughter of William Harold and Katherine (Ehlenfeldt) Kizer in Danville, IL. Patricia married Russell A. Britt on March 22, 1958 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1995. Survivors include her son, Harold (Kristina) Britt of Danville, IL and her daughter Sandra (special friend, Fred) Auter of Rossville, IL, two sisters, Jean Ireland of Veedersburg, IN and Marge Dodd of Ogden, IL, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Michael, Nicholas, Craig and Alan, as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell, a brother William "Bud" Kizer and a sister, Beverly Green. Patricia was a member of the Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church and a bookkeeper for S. S. Kresge as well as Kmart in Danville for many years. She retired from Kmart in 1995. She enjoyed spending her free time flower gardening, crocheting, sewing, taking care of her toy poodle "Chrissie" and playing with her "grand-dogs". She was quite the seamstress in her day as she made suits for her husband and son, baton outfits for her daughter and tablecloths and blankets for many family members. She enjoyed taking trips to Alabama with her daughter as her chauffer, boating on Lake Vermilion with family and friends, and most of all she loved simply spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Raymie Gordon. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the funeral home.
