Patricia Gordon, 84, of Georgetown passed away at her son’s home in Cayuga on November 24, 2024. She was born in Oakwood, Illinois on July 18, 1940 to the late Louise (Miller) Earley and Donald Jobe. She attended and graduated from Danville High School.
Patricia married Bob Dowers in December of 1960. After that marriage ended, she married Gene Bell in March of 1986, he preceded her. She later married Bill Gordon in August of 1999. He preceded her as well. In addition to her parents and husbands, Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Bates Martin, her stepsons Roger and Jeffrey Gordon, and her sister Linda (Dennis) Kopka.
Patricia worked at Estad in Danville from 1979- 1986 before opening and running a daycare, which she proudly named Mid West Care, out of her home in Springfield for about 8 years. During that time, she was also President of the Springfield Day Care Association from 1994-1995. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society for many years as well. She was also very devoted in her faith, and while she attended numerous churches throughout her lifetime, most recently she was a faithful member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown.
Patricia is survived by her sons Bill (Edith) Dowers of Cayuga and Larry (Kerry) Dowers of Georgetown; her son-in-law Rob Martin; and grandchildren Brandon (Rachael) Bates, Brock (Sarah) Bates, Omeika (Justin) Williams, RC Dowers, Billie Jo DePrietta, Mathew Dowers, Olivia Martin, Leslie Martin, and Hunter Martin. She also leaves behind her greatgrandchildren Peyton Bates, Claire Bates, Madelyn Bates, Scarlett Bates, Lily Bates, Parker Sams, Tanner Sams, Madison Daniels, Gavin Daniels, Aiden Williams, Michael Dowers, and Kenai DePrietta; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 12 pm – 2 pm CST at Sunset Funeral Home’s Houghton Leasure Chapel, located at 200 E. West Street in Georgetown. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow the visitation that afternoon at 2 pm, also at the funeral home. She will be placed to rest next to Gene at Georgetown Cemetery following the services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First Church of Christ in Georgetown.
