Patricia Dobbs

Patricia L. Dobbs, resident of Champaign, Illinois, passed away on January 18, 2019, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois at the age of 85 years old.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday February 9, 2019 at 11 a.m., at St John Lutheran Church, 509 S. Mattis, Champaign, IL. 61821.

Born May 15, 1933 in Decatur, Illinois, where she was raised and graduated from Steven Decatur High. She met her husband, Dwight E. Dobbs at age 14 (and he 15).

They married on June 2, 1951.

For over 30 years, she was co-owner of Urbana Office Machines in Urbana, Illinois. Pat was a voracious reader, enjoyed puzzles, and playing cards. She also loved to travel and see new places, and always said "she had sand in her shoes."

A devout Christian, Pat loved music, and sang throughout her life, in choirs and as a soloist. In her twenties, Pat recorded with organist Herman Voss of Chicago. Her favorite sacred solo was "I Love to Tell the Story".

She will be greatly missed by her son, James C. Dobbs (Rikki Brady), her daughter Karla L. Fisher (Norm Fisher), both of Champaign, her 7 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and by all whose lives she touched.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight, her parents, two sisters and a brother.

The family requests instead of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be made either to: St John Lutheran Church Music Fund, Champaign, or Meadowbrook Health Center, Urbana.
