Patricia Darlene Strater

Patricia Darlene Strater (formerly known as Long; birth name Hodge) of Champaign, IL passed away peacefully on August 18, 2021 at the young age of 57. Patricia was born in Santa Rosa, CA on February 6th, 1964 to John Hodge and Mary Carol Hodge. She attended Live Oak High School before relocating to Illinois. It was in Champaign Illinois that she embraced her entrepreneurial spirit, taking business classes at Parkland College. Eager to get to work, she started a started a small sign making company and later moved on to general contracting. Patricia gained a deep sense of accomplishment from working hard. She loved to sing, dance, and listen to music. She enjoyed laughing with people and was extremely charismatic and witty. Patricia was preceded in death by both her grandparents Frank and Mary Zunino; mother Carol Zunino; and long time partner Daniel Ross. She is survived by her father John Hodge; 3 siblings: John, Frank, and Angela Hodge; daughter Jessica Long; daughter Carol Johnson and her husband Calvin; 3 grandchildren, Natalie Garcia, Noah and Nash Johnson; son Arnold Long and his wife Nicole Long; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4pm-6pm on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Champaign, Illinois 710 N Neil St. Champaign, Illinois 61820.
