Patricia Anne Baker, age 71, of Alvin, passed away at 10:25 am on September 2, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born September 14, 1937 in Hoopeston, IL the daughter of Frank and Goldie (Barker) Bryant. Patricia married Raymond O. Baker on September 27, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1990. She is survived by two sons: Ray (Debbie) Baker of Alvin, Paul Baker of Hoopeston; one daughter: Belinda (Butch) Pratt of Alvin; one foster daughter: Tammy Young; six grandsons: Ray A. Baker, Ryan Baker, Kyle Baker, Jared Burton, Zach Burton, Kenneth Pratt; three granddaughters: Tabitha Gonzalez, Kayla Nixon, Jessica Pratt; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend: Brenda Boggess of Westville. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers: Ellis, Max, Tom, and Dave Bryant. Patricia worked as an Assistant Manager at the Mobile Super Pantry on the corner of Bowman and Voorhees in Danville until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo and fishing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of the life of Patricia Baker will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the funeral home.
