Patricia Ann Taylor

Patricia Ann (Boggess) Taylor, 77, of Olivet, passed away at 10:15pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Provena Covenant, Urbana. She was born on February 27, 1931, in Olivet, IL, the daughter of Homer and Ada Opal (Wood) Boggess, both deceased. On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Verle C. Taylor in Covington, IN, until his passing on August 22, 1998. She will be missed by: her son, Gregory A. Taylor of Terre Haute, IN; her daughter, Verlene Knight of Westville; her grandchildren, Marcie Sue (Edward) Cates of Seymour, IN, Leona Kay (Jeremy) Purcell of Terre Haute, IN, & Stacey Lynn (Glen) Davis of Charleston, IL; her great grandchildren, Lana Jane Purcell, Samantha Leanne Purcell, & Kristianna Lynn Purcell, all of Terre Haute; and a close friend of the family, Richard Kern of Ohio, who was like a son to her. Her great granddaughter, Rachael Purcell, preceded Patricia in death. Patricia retired after 25 years of service from Lakeview Hospital. She was a member of the Olivet Church of the Nazarene. She was a Girl Scout Leader and in her spare time, enjoyed gardening, fishing and hiking in the woods. She also cherished her dogs, Mac & Zena. Patricia was a generous and loving person, giving freely of her time and care. She was always willing to help, offering a place to sleep or a warm hug. A celebration of Patricias life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm, Friday, January 2, 2008, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
