He was preceded in death by: his parents; his daughter, Nancy Kaye; and his son, Rodney Stephen Silver. Pastor Silver was a graduate of Bob Jones University, and received an honorary doctorate from Maranatha Baptist University. He was the Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown for 40 years. He was a loving son and brother, beloved husband and father, adored grandfather and great grandfather. Pastor Silver was counselor and shepherd to many, soul winner, church planter, and defender of the faith. His gentleness, kindness, and humor were rare and endearing. The Silver Family, Bethel Congregation, and all who knew him will miss his sweet presence and Christ-like spirit. On Friday night, he instructed his wife and children that upon taking his last breath they were to "jump up and down and shout hallelujah, because I am going home". Please join his family to celebrate his homegoing at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Bethel Baptist Church, 501 S. Main St, Georgetown, IL, with Pastor Aaron Rohde officiating.
