Pastor Stanley Bruce Monroe

On Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. Stanley passed through the veil and fell into the arms of Christ Jesus. Hallulah! What a Savior! Stanley, 46, of Danville, was born April 6, 1959 in Danville, the son of Frank and Lavonne Monroe, both deceased. In his early years he attended Danville Schools and was a 1977 Danville High School graduate. There he began his lifelong love for Law Enforcement by becoming head of the Danville Chapter of Police Explorers " later he extended this love into a career as he worked as corrections officer in Joliet, IL, Sheriffs office in Cayuga, IN and was Deputy Sheriff of Bainbridge, Georgia. He held other various law enforcement positions throughout the South. Most recently he was employed as Police Chaplain of Richland Georgia Police Department 2003 " through fall of 2004 but retired from this position due to continued issues of poor health. He served as Senior Advisor for American Security Council " U.S. Congressional Advisory Board. Early in his young life he felt the call to serve God and answered this by starting his own street ministry here in Danville. Working with the homeless, he helped with their basic needs and led many to the Lord. Then in 1987 God spoke again to Stan and told him to Pastor a local assembly " this Stan embraced with zeal and fervor. He served as Pastor of Living Word Tabernacle here in Danville. He preached the true revelation of Jesus Christ to those whom would receive it. Those who have had the honor to sit under his ministry know he was a true man of God who knew no boundaries and would go to any extreme to save one for Christ. Pastor Monroe is survived by: one son " James Joseph Monroe of Danville, a sister " Becky (Greg) Miller of Danville, and two brothers " the Rev. David (Donna) Monroe of Racine, WI and Elba (Jean) Monroe of North Fort Myers Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife- Ruth Taylor " Monroe of Danville and several nieces and nephews. Stan loved fishing, camping, music and talking to people about the Lord. His eyes have closed in death, but his Light shines on into eternity.
