Cayuga, Ind. -- Pansy Deloris Turner, 86, of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 12:11 p.m. EST Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was born July 13, 1922 in Humrick, Illinois, the daughter of the late Nicolao and Goldie Johnson Gastaldi. She first married Charles Tryon. She later married Herschel "Casey" Turner on January 30, 1944 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1980. Survivors include: four daughters, Lilly Asbury of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Loretta Stonebraker of Crawfordsville, Indiana; Arletta(John)Fleming of Cayuga, Indiana and Mary Turner of Cayuga, Indiana; two sons, William(Lois)Turner of Clinton, Indiana; and Tom(Sandy)Turner of Cayuga, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Reila(Carl)Kiger of Cates, Indiana and Elsie Sigler of Kingman, Indiana; very special friends, Marie Peterson and Janet Freeman. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Arguel Swank; infant daughter; one daughter, Barbara Fischer; one son, Dennis Turner and one sister, Mary Tague. Pansy worked as a nurses aide in nursing homes in Montezuma, Indiana and Tilton, Illinois. She was a member of the Horseshoe Mission #11 Church and attended the Cates Community Church. She was also a member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Rainbow Post #263. Pansy played the piano in area churches sine the age of 12. Pansy enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family. Funeral services: 10 a.m. EST Monday, December 8, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Jack Wilburn; Burial: Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana; Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. EST Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the funeral home with a memorial service by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary at 7:30 p.m. EST.
