Pamela Sue Riggle, 62 of Danville, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on July 14, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Burks) Paden. On November 25, 1977, Pam married Kolby J. Riggle at the First Presbyterian Church in Danville. He survives along with two daughters; Rebecca Ruth (Eric) France and Rachel Renee Riggle. Her granddaughter and the joy of her life, Emma J. France, one brother, Jan P. Paden, one sister, Judith (Paden) Erb, three sister-in-laws, Anne Paden, Gail (Larry) Norton, Lisa Taylor, her father-in-law, Charles M. Riggle Jr., and her mother-in-law, Mildred L. Riggle, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that were very important to her, also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents. Pam attended North Ridge Jr. High and graduated from Danville High School in 1968. Her earlier life was spent in Glen Mills, PA, and later moved with her family to Danville when she was 14 years old. Pam worked for Provena USMC in Danville, the Danville Correctional Facility, Danville Regional Cancer Center, several years for Key Stroke, and also worked from home as a medical transcriptionist. She was a humorous, giving, assertive, and determined person. She was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Danville, serving as long term Sunday School Superintendent, church elder, and volunteering with VBS. Her two favorite activities at church were participating in "Knit Witt's" and singing in the choir. Pam was a cat lover, enjoyed playing cards, antiquing, collecting, going to auctions, and being with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Per her wishes, Pam will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Pamela S. Riggle has been scheduled for 12:00pm on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the 1st Presbyterian Church located at 100 N. Franklin Street, in Danville with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street, in Danville, and from 11:00am until time of service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Pam's name.
