Owin Thomas Card

Owin Thomas Card, 24, of Bismarck, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at his home.

He was born October 18, 1999, in Danville, Illinois, son to Celine Scarcey Card (Stewart) and Thomas Card, and they survive.

Owin is also survived by his rock and the love of his life Jordan Krage; his siblings Sierra Card and Isaac Card; his niece Finley Moulton; paternal grandmother Sheryl Card; Uncles Troy (Amy) Stewart, John Bagosy, Lawrence (Lindsey) Card Jr., Gerald Card, Brandon (Kristen) Card, Aunts Dana Card, Jennifer (Brett Deffenbaugh), several other aunts and uncle, many cousins, and an “outrageously large group of friends.”

Owin was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents: Ralph and Louise Biscart; maternal grandparents: Jack Stewart and Kathryn Biscart; and his paternal grandfather: Lawrence Card Sr.

Owin had a love for adventure and enjoyed anything to do with sports and the outdoors. He loved motorcross, football, baseball and boxing. He also loved the time spent with friends fishing on the lakeside and talking about life. Owin was known for how intelligent he was without having to even try. He attended Bismarck schools, and although his family never saw him bring a book home, he managed to always get outstanding grades and excel at what he put his mind to. Most of all, Owin will be remembered for his big heart. He was kind, caring, and had a special place in his heart for kids. He will be deeply missed by all those who love him.

Owin’s family would like to thank Jordan and her family for the love they gave to Owin over the last seven years, and for accepting him as one of theirs.

A Celebration of Life for Owin will take place at 7PM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois with Pastor Jame Blue officiating. Visitation will be from 4PM-7PM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the funeral home in Danville.
