Ottilie H. Leisch, 97, of Danville passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 04, 2005 at Danville Care Center. She was born August 3, 1907 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Ernest and Minnie (Lange) Lierman. She married Arthur L. Leisch on October 20, 1931 in Danville. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1985. She is survived by 1 daughter- Alice (Don) Barnes of Ogden, Illinois; 10 grandchildren- Penelope (Bruce) Garrison of Morton, Illinois, Pamela Barnes of Carol Stream, Illinois, Joyce Doss of Danville, Thomas (Karen) Barnes of Hume, Illinois, Stephen (Dawn) Barnes of Aurora, Colorado, James (Sandy) Carter of New Haven, Indiana, Michael (Amy) Carter of Atlanta, Indiana, Robert Carter of Danville, Paul Carter of Danville, and Stuart Barnes of Danville; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter- Saundra Carter, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Ottilie retired from Steel Grip Safety Apparel in March 1974 after working there for 34 years. She worked as a supervisor and instructor and taught employees how to run the machines. She previously worked for R and S Printing Company. Ottilie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. She was a past member of Concordia society, Ladies Aid, Womens Guild, and was a charter member of Mothers Club. Ottilie was a very skilled seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and making clown dolls. She worked with the church sewing group. She also enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
