Orville Moore

Orville "Rex" Moore Jr., 54, of Peoria, formerly of Danville, Illinois passed away at 10:45pm on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on April 25, 1961 in Danville. The son of Orville and Karen Stevens Moore Sr., Rex married Debra Styer on March 14, 1987. She survives. Other survivors include his sons James Miller of Danville; Joshua (Jordan) Miller of Peoria; and Jeremy Rex Moore of Peoria; three sisters Lorie (Mark) Gardner of Georgetown; Chris VanDuyn of Westville; Amber (Eric) Black of Rossville; and a brother Kenny Moore of Westville; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and Grandma and Grandpa Moore. Rex enjoyed sport shooting as well as going to the shooting range. Being a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening and doing yard work. As a young man, he was a member of the First Church of Nazarene and the singing group Contemporares. Above all, Rex loved spending time with his family and his dog, Patches. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville; it will be officiated by Kevin Cox. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites by American Legion Post 51. Memorials in honor of Rex may be made in his wife Debra's name, as the family is setting up an educational fund for their son Jeremy.
