Orville L. Bell, 84, of Westville passed away at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday November 29, 2005 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1921 in Jasper Co., IL the son of Murvin and Ethel Manuel Bell. He married Iretta Collom on November 8, 1953 in Danville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Debbie Sy of Clinton, TN, Lori (Randy) Gorman of Loudon, TN, Randall Bell of Georgetown, and Traci (Bill) Hoopingarner of Greencastle, IN., his grandchildren, Bryan and Christopher Sy, Dakota and Cheyenne Bell, Andrew and Justin Hoopingarner, and Ryan Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents. Orville was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 51. He was also a lifetime member of the 40 & 8. Orville was a lifetime member of the Electrical Workers Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing euchre, especially with his brother-in-law Dale and Dales wife Mary Lou. A celebration of Orvilles life will be held and 10:00 a.m. Friday December 2, 2005 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.., Thursday December 1, 2005 at the funeral home.
