Westville " Orval Heaton, 87, of Westville passed away at, 8:18 p.m. Tuesday December 13, 2005 at the VA Illiana Health Care System. He was born on June 25, 1918, in Indianola the son of Allen and Ethel Mae Webb Heaton. He married Florence Thallman Hughes on October 22, 1945 in Bascom, OH. She preceded him in death on March 7, 1980. He later married Geraldine F. Leipart on December 18, 1992 in Danville, IL. She survives of Hoopeston. Also surviving: one son, Robert Heaton of Westville; two daughters, Bertha Mae (Walter) Scank of Knoxville, TN and Marjorie Axtell of Westville; one sister, Juanita Galyen of Newton, IL; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter. Orval was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He retired as a nursing assistant from the Veterans Administration Hospital and later worked at the Danville Masonic Temple. He was active in the Danville Scottish Rites, White Shrine, 40 & 8. He was past president of Parent Teachers Association, Past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Past Commander of the American Legion Post 51 of Westville. Orval also bowled for the American Legion. He was past Patron of the Georgetown Eastern Star of the Georgetown Russell Masonic Lodge # 154 where he was Past Master. Orval was past Grand Master of the Olive Branch in Danville as well as serving as the Chaplain for the American Legion. Orval received the Knight of York Cross of Honor and the Meritorious Service Award for the Illinois Council of Deliberation.
