Ora Paul Marshall, 77, of Dana, Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2024 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Paul was born November 6, 1946, the son of Gernon Edgar "Dutch" Marshall and Elizabeth Newnum Marshall in Lodi, Indiana. Paul married Lana Johnson. She proceeded him in death.
Paul leaves behind a loving friend Martha Brewer, his children, Danny (Theresa) Marshall, Brad (Jennifer) Marshall, Beth (Jon) Jones, Shawn (Lisa) Howard and Reben(Julie) Howard, Dirk (Tina) Howard, and Abbey (Jason) McDaniels, his grandchildren, Chris, Rusty, Rebecca, Dakota, Megan, Jon II, Isabelle, Abby, Mariah, Tia, Stacia, Shelby, John, Kad, Gentry, Kaylnn, Cassie, Josh, Ashley, his great grandchildren, Alex, Addy, Kia, Ashton, Hunter, Ryan, River, Myles, Connor, Lyla, Lydia, Charlie, Julien, Gus, Oliver, Journee, Zoey and baby Korslin , his sister, Sonnie Trinkle, and his brother Rick, Marshall, and a lifelong friend Robert Stickley.
Paul was proceeded in death by His parents and his wife, daughter Paula, a grandson, Brett siblings Perry, Virgil, Roy, Joy, Carol.
Paul was a hard worker started out in the Coal Mine, then went to Wisconsin where he worked on a dairy farm. Moving back to the Danville area worked at the boat factory, then went to the brickyard finally ending at the Vermillion County highway department and as a part-time bus driver.
He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting fishing, arrowhead hunting gardening anything that he could do outside. That included raising goats and other livestock on his farm. He also was known to love his coon dogs and being able to coon hunt. Paul would watch westerns on TV. Watched the Colts play and enjoyed talking to the kids about the game. He enjoyed making candies and elderberry syrup. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren who called him grandpa numb numb he loves chocolate candy, and always had a piece for the grandkids. Paul was known as a very thoughtful man always thinking and helping others.
A visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024, At Sunset DeVerter Chapel, 215 North Division St., Cayuga, IN. With service to follow at 3 o'clock. Burial at Thomas cemetery in Newport. Please join Paul's family and sharing on his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
