Ora Lee Carroll

Champaign - Ora Lee Carroll, 80, passed away on Friday March 24, 2017 at Champaign Urbana Nursing and Rehab in Savoy, IL. She was born on May 11, 1936 in Champaign, IL to Stanley "Jack" and Margaret (Thompson) Butts. Ora is survived by her children Robert Russell II, Michael Russell, Amber Lynn (Don) Plummer, and Toni Russell; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; and brother Stanley (Doris) Butts. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Patty Russell; brothers Shelby and George; sisters Pauline and Marianna; and half-sister Cubey. Ora loved spending time with her family and she was a devout Baptist. She enjoyed assembling puzzles and watching soap operas. Ora worked at the public aid office for over 20 years. A celebration of Ora's life will be held at 5pm on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL 61820. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Memorial visitation will be held prior from 4pm-5pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Ora's name to the American Cancer Society.
