Opal M. Woodyard, 93, of Danville, IL passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Opal was born and raised on her family's farm in Owingsville, Kentucky. Her family moved to the Danville area where she attended McMillian School. As a young woman she worked various jobs during the depression and WWII. Once she married she focused on her home and family. In her later years, Opal traveled to several countries with her special group of lady friends and would never miss a good Bingo game. Mom loved to talk and share her life stories to all around her. Opal is survived by her son, John Snyder; daughters, Donna Crane, Denna (Isaac) Wyatt; grandchildren, David, Justin, Jessica, Christopher, Jonathon, Harley and Shelby; blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Emma Welch Goodpastor; 5 siblings; children, Karen Ann and Junior. The family would like to thank all mom's caregivers over this past year. Visitation will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10-11 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. Service will be held immediately following at 11 AM. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
