Danville- Opal Mae Hudson, 93, passed this life at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. She was born September 26, 1917, in Champaign County, a daughter of Roy Christopher and Ruth Ellen Hill Hudson. She attended Summers Beauty School in Danville and operated her beauty shop in Potomac until her retirement in 1975. She was active in several community organizations. She was President of Womens Club of Henning, Oracle of Royal Neighbors at Potomac, Secretary of the Bismarck Fair, a member of the Henning Craft Club and Henning Senior Citizens, and a member of Jamesburg Methodist Church. Opal is survived by her sister, Dorothy Helen Hudson and brother, Lawrence Warren Hudson, nephews Craig Alan (Cheryl) Hudson, Lawrence Dean (Phyllis) Hudson, Gary Lee (Alvena) Hudson, 4 great-nephews, 2 great nieces, 3 great-great nephews and 6 great-great nieces. She was preceded by her parents, brother Fred Roy Hudson and sister Marjorie Marie Hudson. She will be missed by all who knew her. Services for Opal Mae Hudson will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the services at Sunset. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
