Ona M. (Hackler) Ryan passed away August 25, at Mi Casa Nursing Home in Mesa, Arizona after a long struggle with Alzheimers. Ona was born October 10, 1931 in Ridge Farm, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie (White) Hackler, her father, Ernest Fat Hackler and one brother, Donald M. Hackler all of Ridge Farm. Ona is survived by her sister, Betty Reed of Selma, CA, her son, Steven (Elaine) Smith of Mesa, AZ. She married James W. Ryan on September 16, 1972 in Danville, he survives. Also surviving are seven step-children, James S. (Elaine) Ryan of Wellesley, MA, Kathleen (Randy) Spence of Emmett, ID, Michael D. (Sue) Ryan of Danville, Timothy (Julie) Ryan of Hudson, IL, Sharon Ryan of Aurora, IL, Thomas (Diana) Ryan of Dover, NJ and Patrick (Linda) Ryan of Webster Groves, MO. Fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Ona graduated from Ridge Farm High School in 1949. She worked as a secretary for Shur Gain Feeds and Fleming-Weller Reality. She attended the Friends Church in Vermilion Grove. Ona enjoyed crocheting and traveling with her husband James in their motor home, especially with the Apollo R.V. Group.
