Cayuga, Ind. -- Omer F. Wesch, 97, of Cayuga, passed away at 9:20 a.m. CDT Monday, March 14, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. He was born May 27, 1913 in Arcola, Illinois the son of the late John and Lula Wyman Wesch. He married Mabel M. Sudkamp on January 25, 1941 at St. John's Catholic Church in Arcola. She preceded him in death on November 3, 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Marylu Wesch; two sons, Danny(Eleanor)Wesch and David Wesch; grandson, Joel(Jill)Wesch and two great grandchildren, Landon and Lily Wesch all of Cayuga, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Omer was a hog farmer in the Cayuga area for many years. He was a member of the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown, Illinois and the Vermillion County Farm Bureau. Omer was a 1932 graduate of Arcola High School. He was very active in agriculture events. Omer enjoyed telling stories, mowing his yard and visiting with people. He loved his pets and was very proud of his family. Mass of resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Illinois time/11 a.m. Indiana time Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown, Illinois; Officiating: Revs. John Paninski and John Gabriel; Entombment: Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Danville, Illinois; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Indiana time Thursday, March 17, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. Contributions may be made in Omer's memory to the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 109 West Seventh, Georgetown, Illinois 61846.
