Olive Marie Anders

Olive “Marie” Anders, 88, of Tilton, IL passed away at 3:50 AM on December 13, 2024 at Goldwater Care Nursing Home in Danville, IL.

Marie was born on October 30, 1936 in Danville the daughter of Charles H. Bevan and Dorothy M. (Poland) Black. She married Clarence E. Anders in Danville on December 18, 1954.

Survivors include one son, Steve E. Anders of Killeen, TX, two daughter, Diane M. Crawford of Danville and Lisa K. (Thomas) Lopinski of Burbank, CA, one sister, Janet (Steve) Brown of The Villages, FL. Marie is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald Bevan, one son, Scott B. Anders and son-in-law, Sidney Crawford.

Marie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was known as “The Hat Lady” because she loved to wear hats. She attended Daniel Grade School, graduated from Danville High School and attended Danville Area Community College. Marie worked for AT&T for over 25 years and later worked part-time for Danville School District 118 as a Teachers Aide for 11 years.

Marie enjoyed reading, square dancing in her earlier years, some ballroom dancing, and attending church. Most of all, Marie loved spending time with her grandchildren, she would do anything to help her children, her family was of the utmost importance!

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville, IL. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate. 

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
