Olga Gregoria McLane 89, of Danville, passed away at 5 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on May 25, 1919, in Hiroshima, Japan, the daughter of Sebastian Rufus and Mercedes Maria Coelho De Jose. Both deceased. On January 4, 1947, Olga married Mr. William E. Mac McLane while both were working to restore communications in China after the war. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1974. Olga is survived and will be missed by her four children: Cheryl Palandro (Fred Baus) of New Jersey, Kathy Read of Champaign, IL, Ray (Barbara) McLane of Ohio, and Edward McLane. Three grandchildren; Vincent Palandro, April McLane, Valerie McLane, her great-grandson; Ramon McLane, and her brother Albert of Hong Kong. Olga loved her faith as a Jehovahs Witness, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and making crafts. Olga had an extraordinary life from early childhood through her experience in China during WWII, to present day. Her life journey culminated in a woman who remained resilient, strong in character, and devoted to her faith.
