Wilma Hueston Obituary

Wilma Jean Hueston, 94, of Westville, Illinois left the earth to join her husband in the Lord’s presence at 1:11 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

.

Wilma Jean Hueston was born on May 4, 1925, in Cayuga, Indiana. The daughter of Hershel and Ruth Sherman (Murdock). She married James Robert Hueston on December 16, 1945 in Perrysville, Indiana.  She will be dearly missed by her son Robert (Brenda) Hueston of Georgetown, Illinois and her daughter Sherri Anderson of Avon, Indiana. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Myers, brother Norman (Susie) Sherman and Norma (Ed Myers) and many nieces and nephews. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren; Suzanne and Jay of Colorado, Jennifer (Joe) of Tennessee, David (Anne), Brian, Carrie (JJ), Kristi (Jeff), April (Connor) of Illinois, Jeremy (Amber) of Kentucky, and Amber (Dave) of Indiana: 22 great grandchildren; Kyle, Drew, Luke, Atley, Kole, Emma, Madilynn, Mia, Sloan, Nash, Quinn, Tara, Zach, Tyler, Karleigh, Dalton, Hannah, Taylor, Ava, Chloe, Jenna, Macey, and Emily. Two great- great grandchildren; Zach, Ellie, and is expecting another great-great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Phil (Beverly), her parents and sisters, June and Margaret.

Wilma’s love of family and passion for life kept her strong and active.  She was known as the “Energizer Bunny” and was always ready and willing to keep on going.  She embraced life, enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Germany, Caribbean Cruises, Alaska, Mexico, Canada, and across the United States.  She retired from Sears after fifteen years. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was an avid member of the Grape Creek Baptist Church.  She loved sewing, crocheting, tatting, quilting, macramé, and making floral arrangements.  She was enthusiastic in supporting and cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities.  She loved the days she spent camping, fishing, mushrooming, gardening, and playing euchre. She enjoyed shopping and lunch with her friends and spending as much time with her family as possible.

She was admired by all who met her for her ability to overcome adversity and surrounding herself with a positive attitude and her perseverance.  She’ll be sadly missed as the matriarch of our family. Her strong family values that she bestowed upon her children and grandchildren will ensure her legacy lives on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
