Wayne Haugen

Wayne Haugen, 79, of Danville passed away on February 27, 2024 at 4:57 PM. 

Wayne was born on January 2, 1945 the son of Joseph and Alice (Whitney) Haugen in Chicago, IL. He married Vicki Haugen on January 1, 2005 in Maui, Hawaii and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2020.

Wayne is survived by his dog, “Patches” and special friends, Jeff Keeling, Janet Hetherington, Cindy Nygren and Tracie Reed all of Danville, IL.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Vicki Haugen.

Wayne was an Engineering Consultant before his retirement and enjoyed spending his free time traveling to various countries and being outdoors photographing wildlife. He especially enjoyed photographing Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, Blue Herons, Barred Owls and a variety of other birds.  Wayne also enjoyed participating in the Balloons Over Vermilion Events and taking photographs of the Hot Air Balloons.

Per Wayne’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private committal will be held in Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL is assisting with arrangements.

Memorials may be made in Wayne’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
