Wanda Seripinas Obituary

     Wanda P. Seripinas, 79, of Westville, passed away at 9:10 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born on October 12, 1940, in Clinton, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Drusilla {Hughes} Spencer, both deceased.  She was first married to Jackie Howard and later married Anthony (Freddie) Seripinas on August 22, 1970.

     Wanda was a member of The Nazarene Church in Cayuga, IN.   Throughout her life Wanda was known to wear many hats, while working at GE she earned her beautician’s license, during her time at Tee-Pak she also worked as a licensed realtor with Walker Realty.  Wanda was very diverse in the work force she worked at the VA as a pharmacy tech, the Windbreaker Jacket Factory, and owned her own Ceramic Shop.  She enjoyed working as a floral consultant at Prairie Gardens. Then she became the manager at Casey’s of Cayuga and worked at Meijer as a greeter.  

     Working brought her pure joy.  Often you would find her in the yard mowing and was known to cut down a few trees.  She enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, dancing and decorating cakes for family.  She loved boating and spending time with her friends and family.  She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

     She is survived by:  her children, Rachel Howard-Hughes-Maxfield of Cayuga, IN, Tammy (Stephen) Howe of Lewisburg, TN, Debbie (Brad) Adams of Westville, & Tru Seripinas of Westville; her brothers, Bill (Sarah) Spencer of Westville & Norman Spencer of Washington State; her brother-in-law, Dale Morgan of Joplin, MO; her grandchildren, Brandy (Jason) Hinds of Lynnville, TN, Crystal Howe of Lewisburg, TN, Justin (Tove) Adams of Danville, Christopher Hughes of Evansville, IN,  Jackie Hughes and Tyler Defebaugh of Cayuga, IN,  Ryleigh Johnson (Trent Hicks) of Westville;  and her great grandchildren,  Jaylen Smith of Lewisburg, TN,  Jacy & Kaly Hinds of Lynnville, TN, &  Hadley Defebaugh of Cayuga, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and her sister, Lanore Morgan formerly of Joplin, MO.

     A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at a later time.  Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 has assisted her family with arrangements.  Memorial donations may be given in her name to The Ronald McDonald House of Nashville, TN.  Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
