Rosedale – Ted Harold Osborn, 74, of Rosedale, IN formerly of Danville, IL, passed away at 12:40 AM on October 8, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.
Ted was born on July 11, 1946 the son of Ted and June (Fowler) Osborn in Danville, IL. He married Cathy Crisp VanSant on December 19, 2003 and she survives of Rosedale, IN. A lifelong resident of Danville, Ted and Cathy moved to Parke County after marrying, where they spent 17 years enjoying the country life.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Osborn of Rosedale, IN, two daughters, Dawn (Frank) Savino of Hollywood, FL, and Beth (Tim) Maher of Lake Worth, FL, three step-children, John (Christa) VanSant of Brownsburg, IN, Juliet (Jeff) Dove of North Oaks, MN and Josh (Autumn) VanSant of Lakeland, FL, one brother, R.E. (Diane) Stancliff of Russellville, AR, three grandchildren, Danny, Dayna and Devyn, four step grandchildren, Ashlea, Jerod, Sarah and Emma as well as and ten half siblings.
Ted served his country in both the United State Marine Corp as well as the United States Navy. He attended Benson Chapel in rural Covington and was the current President of Central States Distribution Services. Ted had a lifetime love of Ham Radio and made so many lasting friendships with his fellow “hams”. He was also a guide for over 25 years at two Frank Lloyd Wright homes and traveled extensively seeking out Mr. Wright’s wonderful architecture.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Chaplain Ric May will officiate. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
It is kindly requested that those in attendance of service and/or visitation wear a mask and practice social distancing.
