Robert "Bob" Miller

Robert Dean Miller, 77, beloved husband of Sally passed this life on November 24, 2021 Thanksgiving Eve morning at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Il. He was a blessing to his family, and they were thankful for him. 

Robert (Bob, Bobby) Miller was born January 19, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He leaves two sons. Russell (Stephanie) Miller and Wesley (Angela) Miller. Their families include his grandchildren Jessica (Joel) Claudio, Bryan Miller, Tyler, Brycin, Lexi Miller and great grandchildren. 

Survivors also include his sisters Joyce Miller, Betty (Robert) Brooks, his brother Paul Miller, nieces, nephews, and aunts. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents Russell and Dorothy (Dean) Miller, and grandparents. 

Robert was united in marriage April 2006 to Sally Hensley Potter and added her son Derek (Shelly), her grandchildren Loryn, Allison and her great grandchildren to his family. 

Sally survives and will miss him greatly.

Bob truly loved life and enjoyed many things: golf with Sam, auctions with Sally, dinners out and time spent with family and friends. During his younger years, he had horses and belonged to the Merry Riders Saddle Club. Bob loved his coon dogs and was a Master of Hounds and judged many dog shows and coon hunts. He owned a champion redbone coon hound. He enjoyed people and made many lifelong friends while working as a pattern maker at Danville Central Foundry from where he retired in 1995. Bob was active in Westville civic activities including Little League, School Board Member, and President of Sandusky Cemetery Association. He organized Westville Youth Football League and founded Vermilion County Coon Hunters Association. As a member of Georgetown Masonic Russell Lodge, he served as their Chaplain, was on many committees and was a past president. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his Masonic brothers. Bob was generous with his time and resources. 

Family and friends are deeply saddened by his passing. He will be missed. 

Services will be at Urbas Sunset Funeral Home in Westville. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 28 from 4:00 to 7:30 with Masonic service following. Funeral Monday, November 29 at 10:30 with John Mincy of Westville First Church of Christ officiating. Burial in Sandusky Cemetery following.
