Robert Haton Obituary

Westville – Robert E. Haton, 70, of Westville, IL passed away at 8:59 AM on January 8, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Robert was born on October 1, 1950 the son of Edward and Rosa (Barrick) Haton in Danville, Illinois. He married Brenda Pasquale on October 13, 1973 in Danville, IL and she survives. 

Survivors include his wife Brenda “Sue” Haton of Westville, IL, three sons, Bryan King of CA, Robert “Bobby” Haton of Westville, IL, and Michael (Missy) Haton of Bismarck, IL, one daughter, Kelly (Joel) Alvarez of Danville, IL, two brothers, Eddie Haton of Chicago and James (Debbie) Haton of Georgetown, IL, three sisters, Millie Varvel of Danville, IL, Karen (Tim) Moulton of Oakwood, IL and Linda (Kim) Giles of New Mexico as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and his dog “Rocky”. 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Billy Pease, John Haton, Ronald and Donald Haton and one grandson, Antonio Alvarez.

Robert served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Local Laborers Union 624. Things he enjoyed in life was playing poker, watching NASCAR and being a fan of the Chicago Cubs/Bears. He loved coaching baseball and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved sharing 47 years of marriage with the love of his life.

A Private Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Robbie Ketcherside will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard.  A Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the visitation wear a mask and practice social distancing. 

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
